Choose Initial BLS if this is your first BLS Provider course, your current card has expired, or your employer or school specifically requires the initial course.

Who needs BLS?

Registered nurses, physicians, dental professionals, therapists, EMTs, clinical support staff, medical and nursing students, and anyone whose employer requests provider-level BLS.

Can I take Initial BLS if I qualify for renewal?

Yes. If you are eligible for BLS Renewal, you may take either the initial or renewal class. Choose the initial class whenever its date or time works better for you.

When will I receive my eCard?

Successful participants generally receive their AHA eCard electronically after course completion and processing.

Can I complete an assessment after blended learning?

Yes. Choose HeartCode BLS and your city on the blended learning page. The shared skills-assessment calendar starts at $50. Add the matching American Heart Association modules for $50 only if you need them. Complete the modules before your appointment and bring your completion certificate.
